General information on the
Telescopic Oxford swimming pool enclosure
Sizes available
The Oxford swimming pool enclosure is available in widths from 5.00m
to 8.75m wide in the domestic range. The length is constructed in
1.45m modules. The commercial Oxford is available up to 20.0m wide by
1.25m modules. The length of the structure is unlimited.
All fixed or telescopic?
The Oxford can be constructed with all the sections fixed. The normal
design however, is to have part of the building mounted on tracks so
that it can be rolled open in good weather. The mobile sections of
the enclosure contains a unique coupling system that connects the
structure to the mobile track at all times, ensuring the structure is
secure in strong winds.
Side access and ventilation
The side panels slide up into the roof of the enclosure to a height
of approx 2.0m. This gives access all down each of the sides, even
when the building is closed. It also allows adequate ventilation in
hot weather.
Entry into the enclosure
One set of patio doors are fitted as standard at one end. A second
set of doors can be supplied as an optional extra. All patio doors
are supplied with a lock and key.
Frame construction
The frames are manufactured using extruded aluminium arches. The
first 0.75m is vertical. These are finished in a range of dry powder
coated colours. The standard colours available are white, dark brown
or green. Other colours are available at an extra cost.
Glazing materials
The Oxford is glazed with 10mm twin walled polycarbonate in the roof
and 4mm single walled polycarbonate in the sides and ends. This
glazing is available in clear or bronze tint. The sides and ends can
be fitted with 10mm material if required. Commercial Oxfords have16mm
triple walled polycarbonate in the roof sections.
Foundation requirements
It is essential that the buildings go down on square and flat
foundations. With a new swimming pool construction there should be no
difficulty in ensuring that good foundations are provided.
Building control
The Oxford Swimming Pool Enclosure has been designed to comply with
the requirements of building control regulations in respect of wind
and snow loading. Full consultant engineer's calculations are
available on request.
Planning consent
The building is designed to satisfy the permitted development rules.
However, under certain circumstances planning consent may be
required. A service is provided to obtain these permissions on your
behalf.
Guarantees
The aluminium structure is guaranteed for 10 years, there is a
10-year manufacturers guarantee on the polycarbonate glazing.
